In De Diamantfabriek (idd) is a festival based in Amsterdam. The website of the last couple of editions of the idd festival was also built and maintained by EkstrLabs, but they wanted a completely new design for this edition.

The design needed to feel fresh, intuitive and it had to reflect the “Diamantfabriek” part of the name. The festival is held in an old diamond factory, so the structure of diamonds and shapes of diamonds are incorporated in the design throughout the website. The general response to the new design was really good, everyone loved the new design and the faster website.

The website was also built with the Jekyll framework, and has the CloudCannon back-end for the admin part of the website. The website also had to be multilingual, so there are two instances of the website with separate content to fit the needs of the organisation of the festival.

The festival has unfortunately been terminated due to a new board renaming the festival. The website was not compatible anymore, and has therefore been taken down.
